Nolan Auerbach & White Partner Jeb White presented the topic, “When should you become a whistleblower?” Mr. White has lectured at George Washington University for the past ten years.

Nolan Auerbach & White Partner Jeb White presented to a nationwide live webcast audience, with fellow whistleblower attorney James B. Helm, Jr. of the law firm Helmer Martins, about recent FCA cases and developing trends.

Partner Jeb White presented to an audience of over 500 attendees. As a member of the BNA Bloomberg Advisory Board, Mr. White regularly provides similar insight on healthcare fraud trends from the qui tam relator perspective.

Partners Marcella Auerbach and Jeb White presented at the Fourteenth Annual Taxpayers Against Fraud Education Fund (TAFEF) Conference in Washington, D.C. Mr. White presented during the opening day session of the conference, during a panel session titled, “Best Practices for Effectively Working with the Government.” The panel was moderated by qui tam attorney Neil Getnick, and Mr. White was joined on the panel by four government attorneys, including the United States Attorney for South Carolina William Nettles, New York Attorney General Senior Advisor Greg Krakower, California Deputy Attorney General Nicholas Paul, and U.S. Department of Justice’s Commercial Litigation Branch Senior Trial Attorney Colin Huntley. Managing Partner Marcella Auerbach moderated a panel discussion on parallel civil-criminal investigations and prosecutions. Panelists included Assistant United States Attorney Gregg Shapiro, Texas Assistant Attorney General Christen Nedwick, and U.S. Department of Justice’s Criminal Fraud Section Assistant Chief Robert Zink.

Partner Jeb White was the guest lecturer during the opening session of the Program. Mr. White educated students about the False Claims Act and other anti-fraud laws. The session took place on the George Washington University campus. Mr. White has lectured at George Washington University for the past eight years.

Partner Jeb White was the Co-Chairman of the 10th ABA National Institute on the Civil False Claims Act & Qui Tam Enforcement, which was held June 4-6, 2014, in Washington, D.C. In addition, Mr. White opened the conference with a panel discussion entitled, “Fundamentals of the Civil False Claims Act and Qui Tam Enforcement.” Mr. White was joined on the panel by Institute Co-Chairs U.S. Department of Justice Deputy Director Daniel Anderson and respected False Claims Act defense attorney John T. Boese.

Nolan Auerbach & White Partner Joseph E. B. “Jeb” White presented at the American Law Institute’s inaugural False Claims Act Institute Conference, which was held on May 13, 2014, in New York City. Mr. White opened the conference with a panel discussion entitled, “False Claims Act Jurisprudent and Legal Trends.” Mr. White was joined on the panel by Assistant United States Attorney Paul Kaufman, of the Eastern District of New York, and respected defense attorney Jessica Ellsworth, of Hogan Lovells.

As a speaker on the “Business and Corporate Whistleblower Issues” panel, Partner Jeb White educated students about the recent improvements to the False Claims Act.

Partner Jeb White appeared on an hour-long radio show for National Public Radio (NPR) affiliate WITF, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Mr. White was joined on the program by Penn State Law Professor Katherine Pearson. A recording of the show is here.

Nolan Auerbach & White Partners Kenneth Nolan and Jeb White presented at the National Business Institute, on June 13, 2013, during a national webcast: “Health Care Fraud and the False Claims Act.” Mr. Nolan and Mr. White discussed recent efforts to combat health care fraud and outlined the pivotal role whistleblowers have played in False Claims Act recoveries against the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. The audience included representatives from various sectors of the health care industry, including compliance officers and attorneys from across the country.

Nolan Auerbach & White Partner Kenneth Nolan presented during a panel discussion at the American Bar Association’s National Institute on Health Care Fraud, at the Eden Roc Renaissance Hotel, in Miami, Florida. This May 17, 2013 specialty workshop was specifically geared toward qui tam relators and their counsel. Mr. Nolan presented with other leading qui tam attorneys, and he discussed recent developments impacting health care qui tam actions.

Nolan Auerbach & White Partner Jeb White presented at the 13^th Annual Pharmaceutical Regulatory & Compliance Congress, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington, D.C. During the panel discussion of “leading qui tam counsel,” Mr. White discussed recent efforts to combat pharmaceutical fraud and outlined the pivotal role whistleblowers have played in False Claims Act recoveries against the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. The session was moderated by defense attorney Kirk Ogrosky, and Mr. White was joined by qui tam attorneys Michael Morse and Dan Miller. The audience included nearly 1,000 representatives from the pharmaceutical industry, including compliance officers and attorneys from across the country.

Nolan Auerbach & White Partner Jeb White delivered an hour-long speech at the Health Care Compliance Association’s Annual Fraud & Compliance Forum at the Marriott Renaissance Harborplace Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland, on October 1, 2012. Mr. White’s presentation was titled, “Why Healthcare Employees Become Whistleblowers,” and the audience included hundreds of healthcare compliance officers, attorneys and providers from across the country.

Nolan Auerbach & White Partners Marcella Auerbach and Jeb White presented at the Twelfth Annual Taxpayers Against Fraud Education Fund (TAFEF) Conference in Washington, D.C. Mr. White, presenting during the opening session of the conference, provided an overview of the False Claims Act, including an in-depth discussion of the recent legislative amendments. Mr. White was joined by U.S. Department of Justice’s Commercial Litigation Branch Director Daniel Anderson and qui tam attorney Shelley Slade. Managing Partner Marcella Auerbach moderated a plenary panel discussion on multi-relator issues. Panelists included Assistant United States Attorney Zachary Cuhna, qui tam attorney David Chizewer, and former U.S. Department of Justice Assistant Director Stephen Altman.

In addition, Mr. White served as the co-chairman of the national conference, along with co-chairmen U.S. Department of Justice Deputy Director Daniel Anderson and respected False Claims Act defense attorney John T. Boese. Mr. White opened the conference with a panel discussion entitled, “Fundamentals of the Civil False Claims Act and Qui Tam Enforcement.” Ms. Auerbach closed out the first day of the conference by walking the audience through recent developments in a session entitled, “FCA Enforcement Against Pharmaceutical and Device Manufacturers and Health Care Providers.”

Ms. Auerbach outlined recent practice trends and noteworthy court decisions, during a panel presentation entitled, “False Claims Act Developments.” Ms. Auerbach was joined on the panel by leading defense and government attorneys, and the audience included hundreds of health care attorneys and providers from around the country.

Nolan Auerbach & White Partner Jeb White presented to a national audience of nearly three hundred legal practitioners during an American Law Institute-American Bar Association webcast entitled, “False Claims Act and Qui Tam Provisions: New Developments You Must Know.” This annual panel discussion took place on November 30, 2011, and it featured a panel of “nationally recognized False Claims Act practitioners.”

Nolan Auerbach & White Partner Jeb White presented to a national audience of nearly three hundred legal practitioners during an American Law Institute-American Bar Association webcast titled, “False Claims Act and Qui Tam Provisions: New Developments You Must Know.” This annual panel discussion took place on November 13, 2011, with a subsequent rebroadcast on February 13, 2012, and it featured a panel of “nationally recognized False Claims Act practitioners.”

Nolan Auerbach & White Partner Jeb White was the guest lecturer during the opening session of the George Washington University Healthcare Corporate Compliance Program in Washington, D.C. Mr. White educated the audience of healthcare compliance officers about the False Claims Act and other anti-fraud laws. The session took place on the George Washington University campus on October 27, 2011.  

Nolan Auerbach Partners Kenneth Nolan and Marcella Auerbach presented at the Eleventh Annual Taxpayers Against Fraud Education Fund (TAFEF) Conference in Washington, D.C. on September 13, 2011. The Annual TAFEF Conference is the country’s largest conference dedicated to qui tam enforcement. Mr. Nolan joined other leading qui tam and government attorneys during a panel discussion titled, “Emerging Issues of Healthcare Fraud.” Ms. Auerbach presented during a session titled, “An Overview of Multi-Relator and Co-Counsel Arrangements.”

Attorneys Kenneth Nolan and Marcella Auerbach were also awarded the prestigious “Lawyers of the Year” Award during the 2011 Taxpayers Against Fraud Awards Dinner. They each delivered acceptance speeches to an audience of more than 300 leading government and qui tam attorneys from across the country. They were recognized for contributing to the recovery of over $1.3 billion for the Government.

Nolan Auerbach & White Founding Partner Kenneth Nolan conducted a live May 5, 2011, PharmaManufacturing.com webcast titled, “cGMP Compliance and Pharma Whistleblowing Cases.” Mr. Nolan educated a national audience about the cGMP regulations and sources of potential False Claims Act vulnerabilities for pharmaceutical manufacturers. Mr. Nolan has authored a book chapter on the subject, and is considered a leading expert on cGMP violations.

Nolan Auerbach & White Managing Partner Marcella Auerbach spoke at the University of Miami 2011 Law Review Symposium on Friday February 18, 2011. Ms. Auerbach discussed the topic of health care fraud during the opening panel discussion. She was joined in her healthcare fraud panel by David Hyman, Richard W. and Marie L. Corman Professor of Law at University of Illinois College of Law, Joan Krause, Professor of Law at University of North Carolina School of Law, and Eric Bustillo, former Assistant U.S. Attorney and current Regional Director of the Miami Office of the Securities & Exchange Commission. Panelists  spoke on a range of topics, from healthcare fraud to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, to the criminalization of corporate behavior. Other presenters included keynote speaker Robert S. Bennett, co-chair of White Collar at Hogan Lovells, Professor John Coates of Harvard Law, Professor Vic Khanna of Michigan Law, and Professor Jennifer Arlen of NYU Law.

Nolan Auerbach & White Partner Joseph E. B. “Jeb” White kicked off the 2011 session of the Knowledge Congress by discussing the role of whistleblowers in uncovering corporate fraud. This discussion, “Understanding the Whistleblower’s Role in Corporate Fraud,” was broadcasted live via a national webcast on Wednesday, January 5, 2011. Mr. White was joined by other leading corporate fraud experts, including National Whistleblower Center Director Stephen Kohn, Deloitte Financial Advisory Services Senior Manager Mohammed Ahmed, and Eric Sitarchuk, Chair of the White Collar Practice at Morgan Lewis & Bockius, LLP.

Nolan Auerbach & White Partner Jeb White opened the Tenth Annual Taxpayers Against Fraud Education Fund Conference by teaching the session entitled, “The New & Improved False Claims Act: Practicalities & Realities.” This session was held on Sunday, October 31, 2010, at the Marriott Renaissance Hotel in Washington, D.C. Mr. White was joined by Department of Justice Deputy Director Dan Anderson.

Nolan Auerbach & White Partner Jeb White was a guest lecturer during the opening session of the George Washington University Healthcare Corporate Compliance Program. This one-of-a-kind program provided a comprehensive corporate compliance education for current or aspiring corporate compliance officers. Drawing from both George Washington University’s Department of Health Policy in the School of Public Health and Health Services and leading healthcare law firms, the program offered education in healthcare laws and regulations as well as tools and strategies for creating effective corporate compliance programs. Mr. White educated students about the federal False Claims Act and other anti-fraud laws.

Nolan Auerbach Partner Jeb White spoke at a Knowledge Congress webinar entitled, “False Claims Act: Understanding the Law & Defending Whistleblower Claims.” This advanced legal discussion, which took place on August 18, 2010  featured some of the nation’s leading False Claims Act experts. Mr. White, who testified before the U.S. House Judiciary Committee in support of the recent False Claims Act amendments, will explain the important legal options and arguments now available to qui tam whistleblowers.

Nolan Auerbach & White Partner Jeb White spoke at an American Law Institute-American Bar Association webinar entitled, “The Federal False Claims Act.” This panel discussion, which took place on July 20, 2010, featured a panel of “nationally recognized False Claims Act practitioners.” Mr. White discussed the issues addressed by the recent False Claims Act amendments, and the impact these landmark amendments will have on future qui tam actions.

Nolan Auerbach & White Partner Jeb White spoke on the opening panel at the American Bar Association’s National Institute on False Claims Act Qui Tam Enforcement. This June 3, 2010 panel discussion, “The Future of the False Claims Act,” highlighted the legal and political undercurrents that led to the recent False Claims Act amendments. Mr. White, who successfully led the efforts to amend the False Claims Act, joined nationally recognized experts from the U.S. Justice Department and the defense bar to discuss the real-world implications of the newly-revised fraud-fighting law.
